Archangel (Dandy do Domain de Chanteloup) wins GROUP 1st and Best in Breed
(Archangel became a JUNIOR CHAMPION in one weekend !!!
Judge: Matti Tuominen (Finland). May 31 2009 - CFC dog show Montreal under FCI rules
"Excellent type, excellent proportions, good topline, pleasing head and expression, well angulated, typical movement,
good body, good bone, excellent presentation"
My name is Johnnyangel, welcome to our Italian Greyhound website. I got my first IG in 1970, but i am not that old!
My parents had one when I was born, she was my sister and slept under the blanket with me. She lived 14 happy years.
I only started to exhibit/breed IGs in 2005 when my lifestyle changed to a slower pace. My son had a desire to enter the sport of exhibiting and we supported him, now all our family is in it! The IG community is not the most welcoming, in their attempt to protect the breed they go to the other extreme and they fail miserably to guide, help newcomers in their ghetto
and we had to go through many obstacles and errors to find our way and our ID as breeders.

With the kindness of certain judges, breeders from Europe we created 3 different lines of IGs, the North American look, the European standard line and the Universal IGs. I am a forever student of this breed and I keep studying and researching all about them. Currently, I am in a point of my life where I bred some exceptional igs and gave them to other breeders to show them proudly spreading the look of my lines. I welcome new people in this sport.
I am offerring them guidance and support as a co owner, a support I never got from any IG club.
Currently I am the president of the "Toronto International Kennel club", Secretary of the "Cirneco club of Canada" and proud member of the breeders' elite club "IG family International" where I serve this term as the secretary.

ARCHANGEL (DANDY DU DOMAIN DE CHANTELOUP) GROUP 2nd and Best in breed
Judge:Sylvie Desserne (France) - CFC dog show Montreal under FCI rules. May 30th 2009 AM
"Excellent size and type, lovely head, nice chest and body, nice angularity. Long tail, moves very well, good front, back and profile"
I was walking in the streets of Toronto with my IGs. I noticed something new. There were 4 different types or people/reactions
of seeing my IGs. a) Some they would do anything to avoid being close to a dog!, b) some they would smile at them,
c) some they would stop and ask if they can pet them or comment how beautifull they are, d) some of them they would do anything to meet them, turn off their cell phones, stop from their bikes, interupt their conversation, they just HAD to stop and touch the dogs. The latter kind are true dog lovers, their lives are unimaginable without a dog in it and they always own
1 or 4!!! Such people become breeders, exhibitors or even judges. You have to like Dogs so much to be able to do it.
I am one of these people. My life would be incomplete without my IGs.

I am a radio broadcaster and a full time dad and work mostly from home. My Iggies are with me 24/7.
My 2 passions are: Music(recording artist, i tunes, napster, amazon...) and exhibiting/breeding/loving Italian Greyhounds.
We are located in Toronto Ontario Canada.
Our Igs make exemplary show dogs or wonderfull family pets.

"Atlantis", Best Puppy in breed, Winners, Best of Opoosite sex. June 2009
Judge: Johan Beccera (Puerto Rico)
From my daily morning show, I promote this lovely breed, and I wrote a song called:
"WITH MY ITALIAN GREYHOUND", an ode to the strong bond between an IG and his owner.
The song has been released as a CD single globally. The ANGEL IGGIES CLOTH LINE
was created having what iggies need best and is fun and affordable and can be seen on our IGGY SHOP page.

"BEST OF BREED/BEST OF WINNERS - BEST PUPPY IN BREED/WINNERS BITCH" July 2008
Judge: Mr. Fitzsimmons
All my adult iggies are non related and they come from different breeders that all showed exemplary performances in the rings and have multiple wins under their belt. We recently purchased from breeders we trust new European pups with great potential, to be integrated in our iggy program.

Dec 29 2008 - Kitchener Ontario - Judge Margaret Jones
I am very selective and picky about the dogs i will keep for breeding.
All my iggies have been tested and are getting tested regularly prior to breeding and their pedigree is clear from any disease.
All my iggies are Canadian (CKC) and most with the American (AKC) kennel club registered, and the FCI as well..

"BEST PUPPY IN BREED/WINNERS BITCH/BEST IN OPPOSITE SEX" Judge. K. Khan Aug. 2008
(I would like to thank judge: K.Khan for her compliments on our dog being the "breeding kind".)
I have 2 mentors who guided me since the beggining: Cathy and Kimberley, 2 very experienced iggy breeders. In London in 2006 IG specialty our Armani Angel came second in the junior pups swrsks after Cathys' pup from IGCC, ever since she has been giving me great advise. In the menatime I met some great IG people and we now exchange info, knowledge and experiences. Breeders from Europe and around the world. Our social networking resulted the Internaitonal organisation IG FAMILY INTERNATIONAL in 2007 and the annual IG specialty under FCI rules, in Canada,

"BEST BRACE IN BREED" Oct 2008 Judge: Mr. J Cole
"Breeding Igs is like a canvas of a painting, you borrow the best of colors to create a brand new vision of the perfect ig."
The fact that iggies can be bred it does not mean they should. We thouroughly screen and chose the 2 dogs we will breed together, their temperament, their pedigree, pigmentation are deciding factors.
We breed to enhance our bloodlines and strive to improve a better iggy every time. Breding/Exhibiting is not as glamorous people think , is very expensive,
it is a never ending learning process and can have a lot of heartaches. It is a passion for me and a way of life.
Mother nature decides for herself sometimes, no matter what, what makes a good breeder is what he/she does after.

(I would like to thank judge: Deborah Graffman for her valuable insight about our dog,
she was proven so right about him being a good specimen of an IG.)
We do heath tests voluntarilly before we enter into the breeding proccess.
All results are in writing from registered neurologist for the BAER hearing test, certified ophfalmologist for their eyes check up, and the patellas and thyroid tests once they are 1 year old.

"2 BEST IN BREEDS AND 2 BEST PUPPY IN BREED" Canadian Kennel Club Purina National events.
Judges: Carlos Fernadez Renau (photo) and Tamas Jakkel
( I would like to thank judge: Tamas Jakkel for his valuable advises about the herbs supplements.
I would like to thank judge: Carlos Fernadez for his valuable advise about the importance of a polished presentation).
Our breeding philosophy invlolves the best dogs we have, based on their temperament , soundness and pigmentation.
Our girls are bred after their second heat, the very succesfull ones in the ring after the third heat or even later, no more than once a year, and they retire at our home at 7 yrs of age. Our code of ethics is very strict. Breeding is a never ending learning experience and we never stop educating ourselves with the latest developements regarding the breed.
Most of the dogs we kept are champions by now.We are now gather points by showing our new puppies this year.
Our pedigree info goes back many generations and is available upon request.

We thank judge O. Gagne for her infectious smile and friendly personality.
We are member of CKC and FCC, we exhibit our dogs in Canada, USA and also internationally under FCI standards.

"Infinity Milanesa Dei Raggi Di Luna" wins for the first time under judge: Karl-Erik Johansson (Sweden)
We thank the judge for his kind comments about our IGs.
We like to make friends around the world and exchange knowledge and experiences for the betterment of the breed.
It is a great sense of responsiblity to handle such an ancient breed.
